猛暑の最中、採蜜作業が行われました。
今回は11名のボランティアさんが集まってくださいました。
炎天下で約6時間に渡る作業となったこの日は、
こまめな休憩と給水で全員なんとか、熱中症にならずに作業を終えることができました。
ほんっと真夏の養蜂作業は過酷ですが、ミツバチがつないでくれる仲間、とても心強いです。
今回採れたハチミツは、琥珀色。
春先に採れたもの、夏、それぞれの色や香りから、季節の移ろいを感じることができます。

During the scorching heat, honey harvesting was carried out. This time, 11 volunteers gathered to help.
On this day, which lasted for about 6 hours under the blazing sun, everyone managed to finish the work without succumbing to heatstroke, thanks to frequent breaks and hydration. Beekeeping in the midst of summer is indeed harsh, but having companionship from bees is truly reassuring.
The honey collected this time has an amber color. Each honey harvested in spring and summer carries its own unique hue and aroma, allowing us to feel the changing seasons.

M, who has become completely accustomed to handling the centrifuge, has a lovely set of nails under the gloves. They are designed with a honeycomb pattern in honey color. It seems that M has become a devoted fan of the honeybees.

I tried placing the honeycomb honey, obtained by cutting the cappings, on top of a donut for a rewarding treat.

The vibrant blooming flowers we encountered on the way to the apiary. They are a precious presence during this season with scarce nectar sources. Surely, the honeybees are also paying them a visit.
